Today I am going to write about my Independence Day holidays....

In general, since I was a child, I always look forward to celebrating it because at this time I meet with all my family: my cousins, uncles, aunts, etc. We dance “cueca”, drink “chicha”, play football and eat empanadas, meet, etc. Also one of my cousins celebrates her birthday which is on September the 20th so we have a lot of fun.
Nowadays things are not very different, except for one thing: I do not eat meat!! But for me is not complicated at all because we always have other things to eat as I am not the only one who doesn’t eat meat. This year in this independence holiday I feel very sad for the rights of the animals as people kill thousands to eat them and of course I do not agree with that.
Today we're all older but we always have fun like children and we take advantage of these days to meet, talk, eat, but mostly laugh.

In general I like the independence holidays because people have free time to enjoy other things but on the other hand I don’t like it because many Chileans act as consumerists buying a lot of food and stuff that sometimes are really unnecessary.
In this holidays I shared a lot with my family, I went to Curacaví. There we played and ate a lot, and also we drank “chicha”. But most importantly I shared with my nephew who is 3 months old, he is precious.

Last year I spent some beautiful holidays in Antofagasta.
I traveled with my cousins: Camila, Paulina and Kote.
We have many relatives there (uncles, cousins and my grandmother). My mother`s family is from Antofagasta. My mother was born there and lived for 20 years then moved to Valparaiso to study at the university.
I must say that I ate a lot because my aunt is the owner of a restaurant so we had very tasty food and very different too. Also we went to the beach everyday, we helped with some duties in the house and every night all the cousins met to spend some time together but some nights we went partying too!
For me was a wonderful experience because I met every cousin and every day we had different things to do. I visited interesting places and beautiful beaches: the very famous “La portada de Antofagasta” and a very nice and touristic beach called “San felipe”, etc.

I will never forget this holiday because it was a very important to know deeply my family and other people in that city. I am looking forward to going again next summer, I am sure it will be awesome.

I would like visit Brazil

I would like to visit Brazil because this is a beautiful country. My father lived there for many years and my brother traveled last year and told me wonderful things about it, especially the personality of the people. I would like to meet the citizens, to know its culture, and also there is another thing I really love about Brazil that is the language. I think that is beautiful and I would like to learn it. My father and my brother talk very good and when I hear them I always think: "Someday I will learn." And they tell me: This is an easy language because is very similar to Spanish so keep on.

In the country I would like to visit my aunts and cousins and meet my brother’s friends who live near. I am pretty sure that I will go for the 2014 World Cup, in fact, with my brother we are raising money since 2010.

I'd love to stay and live for a year or more to enjoy it and maybe my brother goes again to stay with me.

Hello my name is Marlene Araya I am studying Education in the Universidad de Chile.

Today I am going to talk about for my experience in the past semester. I get very happy when I remember because I almost always remember the good moments, especially with my best friends from university but also with my friend Carolina who always have an excuse to stay after classes sharing time together. The true is that I spent almost all day in the university, but for me is very funny.

In the past semester I had regular classes that were very boring but there were others that I loved. English was a specially situation because I do not like the language so for me is difficult, but I had a very good teacher, the class was a very interesting and fun.

In the university I participate in a group called “Villa alegría”.  We meet every Saturday and do workshops with children, but we decided not to continue with the project because we didn’t have time and things were not going well... this was very sad indeed.
